Hello, my sweet friends. It's been far too long. While events here at the house have been rather fraught the past few weeks, your kind words have helped immensely. I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things...
A friend of mine hosted a Christmas party with an ornament exchange last weekend. Have you ever been to one? You're to bring a wrapped ornament, priced under fifteen dollars. After drawing numbers, you randomly select a wrapped prize in the appropriate order. The other ladies, upon seeing you open your new ornament, have the option of 'stealing' it, if their turn, is after yours.
I chose to contribute some ornaments from the Smith & Hawken line. Red wellies, a sparkly owl, and a little acorn shaped birdhouse packaged in a candy-cane striped matchbox. Nestling the ornaments in peppermint candies, made it a little more interesting.
I think the gal who ended up with it, after it had been swiped twice, was pleased.

Just saw those sweet wellies the other day. I have done this before with a bunco group and really enjoyed it. Glad you had a chance to add to your tree..smiles..Renee
Hi Molly,
My daughter and I bought those same wellies for our tree!! Your packaging for the swap was adorable, and I may borrow that idea for a few gifts.
On another note...I have not been here in awhile, and I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your in-laws. Your tribute to them was lovely.
xoxo Debbie

You always have the best ideas for gifts and packaging! I also bought those adorable wellies. Next time I have an ornament exchange, I going to "borrow" your idea. :) Thanks for the inspiration!
Your header looks so pretty.
We're all hoping your days are improving; new steps, one foot in front of the other each day.
The ornaments you swapped were so pretty and obviously well-made. Lucky, the one who wound up with them. My parents attended an annual party for years and years where this type of gift swap was the highlight of the evening. My mom scored her pretty holiday china, four place settings no less, at one of these occasions, knowing she'd scored a great gift because NO WAY were they bought at under-$15 although that, indeed, was the limit. Someone had decided to be very, very generous!
Those ornaments are right up my alley and I've spent some considerable time since reading this post looking for them. I can't find them on Target's website or Smith & Hawken. What am I missing? Are they perhaps sold out? Can anybody give me any tips. I didn't check Amazon.
I'm hogging the blog here...
I know Smith & Hawken retail stores are closed so it's got to be Target. How could I have missed them in the store?!! Ugh...
Love the ornaments, so pretty!
Oh my these are so adorable...sending you oodles of love for a great preChristmas week. xoxo
