Summer has finally arrived. She took her sweet time, didn't she? In order to commemorate this important occasion, it occurred to me a 'give-away' might be in order.
As one of my favorite things to do in the summer is travel, I picked up some color saturated postcards and a set of cloth-bound journals from Designers Guild. Just for you.
Why text, when you can go old-school and send a postcard? No one is going to wrap your texts in ribbon and hide them in a little box under their bed. Send them a pretty postcard instead...
Jotting a few thoughts while traveling in a beautiful notebook is such a pleasure. Especially, when they include a clever little grosgrain ribbon bookmark.
And for your viewing pleasure, a few quick snaps of one of my rose beds. They're positively incandescent.
Pinker than pink, with a surfeit of blooms. Just the way I like it.
The tiny buds are my favorite part. So much promise.
The fine print...
For a chance to win, tell me one of your favorite things to do in the summertime. We're composing a master list of sunshiney fun, and we could use your help. Please make sure I have a way to contact you, especially if you don't have a blog or website. If you follow me, and/or feel like sharing the give-away with your readers, please let me know for additional chances. You have till Thursday, June 7th. International friends are always welcome.

My fav thing is gardening. I don't text, and don't want to learn how. Arthritis in my hands bad enough as it is. Not going to stress them further.

My favorite thing to do is to have my first cup of coffee on the back porch. I love the peacefulness and the sound of the morning doves just starting their day.

My favorite things are going barefoot, watching the fireflies, seeing the corn grow taller every day, and watermelon! Have a sunshiny day, Jean
Love to have a cookout with friends.

who does not need a ray of sunshine? On a REALLY HOT day I will fill up the kiddie pool (keep in mind my kids are 18 and 20...this is pool that has seen better days) and sit on the edge of it with my toes in the cool water. Iced tea with lots of ice and my favorite magazine as company.
How sweet as was your daughters beautiful birthday celebration......I can't believe my baby turns 17 next month where does the time go.....they will always be my little darlings though!
Enjoy the summer weather I sat outside yesterday trying to get a touch of color on these Alaskan white legs of mine and received 8 mosquito bites.....argh....

Hello! I'm from Russia and I like your blog very much, it is so beautiful!
In summer i like gardening very much, and i like to crochet in my garden, enjoing my flowers and my children near me.
It is my blog adress, and I've shared your picture in my blog. Thank you.
Olga
I do not text. I don't even do facebook. I don't know how to take a photo with my cell phone. I don't have a kindle either. I like real books. I like really nice notepapers and greeting cards you can hold in your hand. I enjoy picking up the phone and hearing the voice at the other end. I'm old-fashioned. I sort of go for authenticity. It took me forever to get comfortable with the internet and I discovered the pleasure of blogs very late in the game. That said, I also don't have a website or a blog myself, so entering your contest is a bit problematic, although I'd love those bright, sunshiny, neon journals because journaling with a real pencil and pen is something I enjoy as much as reading someone else's online journal (AKA a blog!). I'll try to email you; maybe that will count! Can I say also how gorgeous and bountiful your roses are! Ours out here in the west have been a bit straggly this year, just about the same all over town. We got so little rain in Southern California and, in my view, 'way too hot, 'way too early! My tulips got fried before they ever had a chance.
My favorite things are to be outdoors, drinking ice tea, wearing flip flops and summery dresses, and creating goodies!! xo Heather
My favourite thing is gardening and eating icecream but not at the same time!
I don't text,FB etc but I love to write and receive letters and postcards!!
I'm a happy follower!
Beautiful post with beautiful flowers again Molly.....have a beautiful new week....
A water-pistol shooting match in the garden, seeking shelter behind all the pretty flowers. I didn't know Designer's Guild did journals, and am enraptured.
My favorite things about summer? The slower pace, dinner outside, summer reading...

Awww, summer fun! Our summer to-do list always includes signing up for the library reading program, making homemade Popsicles, attending our church's VBS, picking blueberries, canning tomatoes, going to the pool with friends, and buying new sparkly nail polish for our toes. Our list could go one for quite some time, but those are a few highlights.
Yay, I found your giveaway through Elyse. My favorite thing to do in the summertime is put our 4 pet bunnies out in their fences in the yard and watch them play. And I also love to go to Seattle for the day to Pike Place Market, buy produce, flowers, and people watch. Thank you for the chance.
Kathy

I love love love to spend time on the various beaches of Southwest Michigan! :)
My favorite summer activity is to get up in the morning, pick a place to drive that's within an hour or two, and go exploring. We keep things handy in bags so we can grab some drinks and snacks and we're ready to go! We love visiting parks, historical venues, and small towns. This year we're adding journaling to our trips so we can store our memories.
I live in Chicago and I love taking a long walk through the city neighborhoods and parks; Old Town, Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast... Admiring the architecture and small front gardens. I wish we had this lovely weather all year long.
I think my favourite thing about summer is reading outside - I like to find a nice shady spot (because I burn if I'm in the sun too long!) then settle myself down with a cool drink and a good book. Bliss! I've shared your generous giveaway with my readers too http://cuteasabutton82.wordpress.com/2012/06/07/another-hour-another-giveaway/ :)
Hello, My Favorite part of summer is being able to be outside. Inclement weather causes me alot of pain on top of the chronic pain I already suffer so when it warms up its a blessing.
I love being able to putter around the yarn with my gardening gloves planting and pruning. I love having the kids and grandkids drop by almost daily and having the opportunities to play and cook out with them.
I like sitting out in the early morning with my coffee and watching the birds and squirrels get there breakfast. At night after dinner I like to grab a comfy chair and watch the sun disappear and the moon rise up to take its place. You just cant beat the smell of summer flowers or fresh cut grass!
Your flowers are truely beautiful! I agree the buds are the best! Full of promise.
The winner's entry was very sweet! Good pick!
That is quite the prize she won! Everything does scream summer! Just adorable! & your garden....breathtaking!
