what she wore

Just dropped my daughter off at Crate & Barrel's corporate headquarters. Her school offered various career shadowing opportunities this week. They booked up immediately when offered on-line. Last year, we missed out. Not this year....

We were waiting for the options, the moment they posted. Today, she's shadowing a design team in  Crate & Barrel's  furniture department. They'll go from design boards to the finished products on display at their flagship store.

Yesterday, she was able to spend an exciting day with top chef, John des Rosiers. His newest restaurant, Moderno, opened last night.

Business casual, as interpreted by Maggie.

It's good to be young.

What a wonderful opportunity for your daughter to learn about future career interests! I think she did a great job of pulling her outfit together. Crisp and clean but fashionable all at the same time.
Have you and your daughters had time to play around with Polyvore yet? If your girls like fashion, they would probably enjoy creating some fun teen looks. (It's on my sideboard)

P.S. You got me too intrigued about Maisie Dobbs; just ordered a few of the books from Amazon (about $10 each), so am looking forward to some reading. Thanks for the info. I feel like I've stumbled onto a goldmine since discovering your blog!

Your daughter is soooo beautiful and wholesome looking. She has the prettiest smile, and the deepest blue eyes. I imagine your house is besieged by young men. If not already, than soon.

It sounds like the shadowing was a wonderful opportunity for her, I wouldn't of minded a chance like that myself, even though I'm retired.

very classy! I would wear those (and I'm nearly 40! :-) ). It sounds like a great opportunity for her! I wish I had had such a fab opportunity when I was younger as your earlier choices can make such an impact in your life... I hope she has a lot of fun. Pati x

What a wonderful opportunity. My daughter at fifteen toured a hospital and had some lab time their and decided then to be a nurse. Six years later she graduates this June. You never know what will spark in her plus she looks adorable.
