In case you hadn't noticed, the first official day of Spring was yesterday.
Unseasonably warm temperatures have arrived weeks ahead of schedule. Records have been set. Trees are budding, and bulbs are bursting into bloom. Just in time... for a coldsnap.
Dear Spring,
Could you please return to cooler temperatures? The girls like wearing raincoats and cute rainboots (especially, if they come from a certain Aunt). Not to appear ungrateful, but such a dramatic departure from the regularly scheduled programming isn't good. Easing into the seasons would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
'It was one of those March days where the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.'
~Charles Dickens

I know what you mean. Lol! We don't experience seasons here, and I never can truly enjoy spring because I know it means summer is around the corner... and summer in these parts lasts a looong time and it isn't pleasant. (It's the humidity coming off the gulf coast that makes it so icky).
By the way, I am in loooove with your porch. What a sweet decoration. It's so cheerful!

Cute post! Made me smile! It is very warm here today. We have had crazy weather this year. I guess everyone has!! :)
Your home looks very Springy and lovely!
xoxo...Gloria
Winter was warmer than Spring here...funny how it goes sometimes...we are having delightful temps...tomorrow the cold snap is supposed to return with more rain...I do love a Spring shower! Your post was wonderful...love the front door...so welcoming!!
Oh Happy Spring!!!! I Love your Spring Banner. I do believe this Season is my favorite when it comes to COLORS!!! :)
Oh your house looks so magical......we had snow on the first day of Spring and today 2 below.....I'm going to try a rain dance....my little moose now stands on my front porch and looks in were all looking for a little warmth...must have a talk with Mr. Winter and plead with him to move on.....
Absolutely beautiful egg wreath and banner! It makes me so happy to look at it! Love your front porch! :) xo Heather

We do like a gentle entrance for spring, which is what we have this week at our house.
All these comments about the wonderful spring weather! Rainy, gray and snowflakes off and on here...I would take just a wee bit of that spring warmth.
My raincoat and rainboots have had enough use...send your girls this direction.
Hmm...I think perhaps we have your rain. We are on day number three of five. Our week last week was gorgeous so perhaps this is payment. Happy Spring to you and yours...smiles...Renee
Love your wreath and banner!!! Re: the weather, we had spring here in VA all winter, and now that it's spring we have summer - crazy weather! Mary
I always enjoy your front porch pictures. Such a lovely wreath and garland. It was 87 degrees today in MI. You can imagine the complaints about the mmiddle school classroom heat and soccer practice torture for a certain 13 year old. What a crazy spring!
PS. I finished up a few special projects this evening in my craft room. They will be heading your way (along with a special blue bird sewing card).
That Charles Dickens sure does describe spring well!!! I love that!
Oh my...your door is wayyyyy too cute! I love the colors & happiness!!!
My lil guy hasn't taken off his rainboots for a day since the snow melted :) Every kid need a rainboot season! They really are way too cute...I am with you on that!
Your porch is absolutely gorgeous! I know what you mean about Spring weather! Over here in the UK, it's sunny and mild at the moment, but you can never quite trust it to not snow again at this time of the year. I have photographs of one weekend two years ago, where my kids are running around in swimsuits on the Saturday and playing in the snowflakes on the Sunday of the same weekend - bizarre! LOVE your blog btw - am a new follower!
Enjoyed your blog..so happy I found it. Love your porch makes me happy.

Just popped over to tell you that you have won my springtime giveaway...congratulations! I am emailing you too for your address. Your spring post today is beautiful, I love your sweet decorations, and the quote from Charles Dickens is one of my favourites because it sums up this time of year perfectly. I hope your spring weather becomes just right. Have a happy day!

Cute wreath!
It's snowy and blowy here!
What a beautiful, welcoming entrance! We rarely have much of a spring here in Alabama. We're used to going from winter to summer, but I'm enjoying the beautiful weather we're having right now.
ok....I will trade you...our weather has been soooo chilly..and with snow! I am craving your sunshine on my face.
I love your front door...I really need to spruce mine up a bit...thanks for the inspiration. xoxoxo HUHS

Hello Molly...Ooh, I agree...we do like to be eased into each season don't we or it is such a shock to the system!

what gorgeous bunting! so pleased it's finally spring!!
love your blog :) Jessie, xo
It is very warm where I am, but then I live in a desert country and we really never have much of a winter or distinct seasons. They are saying that all the warm temperatures in all the wrong places could cause problems. Our ecosystem is already quite confused. Your porch certainly looks lovely. Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy
Such a lovely wreath and welcoming door. I found your blog via Helen Phillips - so congrats on winning the giveaway. And I'm so glad I've got a cup of tea and your blog archives to go through :)
This weather has been totally crazy! But your Spring banner is adorable!
Beautiful doorway!! I love spring, but part of it's beauty is the cold rainy days too! :)
