estate sale finds

I love reading about other people's estate sale finds. I'm always amazed at the luck, Laurie from Magpie Ethel, has on her Friday rounds. The girls and I were busy running errands and I spotted an estate sale sign in front of a charming house for sale.

Inside, I met an interesting lady who used to own a fancy giftshop in our town. She was selling lots of lovely French-influenced bits and bobs, various small furniture pieces, pretty lighting, framed prints, a particularly beautiful Baker dining room set, and a few linens.  My eyes were instantly drawn to the crocheted hangers, the embroidered pillowcases (tagged Pine Cone Hill), and the pretty, vintage kitchen dishtowels.

In other news, Gram and Gramps are on their way home from Florida. So happy they'll be in the neighborhood once again. Gracie drew this picture for them. It's just the tip of the 'welcome home' iceberg.

I'm going to have Bob install this thermometer right outside their kitchen window at their new house. Gramps has an inordinate interest in the weather.

Isn't her picture the sweetest? It looks just like them. Except, they don't have a pet bluebird. They need to get on that, stat.

I found the same hangers in last year's sale at my local Cath Kidston's shop in London and love them. But those kitchen towels are just gorgeous!! Great finds! Have a lovely weekend, Patix

Sweet finds at the estate sale, but Gracies art is the best thing here! I so wish I had thought to frame and display my girls art when they were little, that would be framed now and treasured:>)

I drove around a bit yesterday to a few garage sales. At one, a looker (a woman) was smoking. So I left there abruptly. Asthma. Aren't people rude? You got some goodies, girl!

Hi Molly-You always have such luck finding items in your trademark Cath KIdston colors. My in-laws live in Hinsdale and there are so many cute shops there. I would love to go to an estate sale held by any one of those prior shop owners!
