spring-like

The soft blue skies outside today could almost fool you into thinking Spring is on its way. If you didn't know better. The Mid-West has had many a snowstorm into March.

Rosie and I took a tour of the neighborhood, bundled up in our warm coats and mittens. We spotted quite a few trees starting to bud, and heard the chirps of a few hardy birds who forgot to fly South. By a few, I mean one or two. And of course, found lots of mud.

It won't be long. At least, that's what I keep telling myself. I'm looking forward to April showers bringing lots and lots of May flowers.

Being able to walk without the bitter cold, I love to walk outside and enjoy seeing the spring bursting out from the winters chill. Spring is nice. I love the fall most of all.

We don't get fall or winter around here, so what I enjoy the most about Spring is that just for a little while I know what summers feel like elsewhere. Lol!

It's also nice working in the flowerbeds. The flowers don't bloom here for long, but it's nice to look at for a while. (I really miss the big backyard we used to have at our old house. It was bursting with pretty color and greenery. We had a lot of birdie visitors, including two squirrels that weren't afraid of people at all. Lol!)

We don't get a very drastic change in the seasons here, but I love Spring...I am a huge gardener...and I love seeing all the bulbs I plant in the Fall coming up and blooming...also...all my hostas come back and that's fun...the yard always looks it's best in Spring. Your pictures were beautiful by the way;0)

My favorite part of Spring is the green! And my favorite part of your blog is - everything! Love the Cath Kidston look and love your header. I probably already told you this, but I still do love it :) Hugs ~ Mary

Blue skies, my favourite!!! Lovely blue sky post this is.
Spring???? What's not to like about it.... and finding beauty in rain is so much easier in springtime.
Bye,
Marian

I miss the walks during the day with little hands. Now the dogs and I are left to fend for ourselves. I must admit it is such an amazing time of the year to remind us of rebirth. Everything seems so possible each Spring. Bountiful gardens. Perfect planters. Simple Summers...smiles...Renee

The first sign of Spring in Alaska is the buds on the Birch trees and then all of a sudden they explode a week later with Beautiful green leaves which is such a sight for snowy blurred eyes....we have been known to still have snow on the ground in the middle of May....

Today sure did feel like spring! I love it when the trees are budding and little flowers are popping up when it's actually spring. Hope we don't get lots of snow in March!
P.S. Maggie looks so cute in Rosie's pretty clothes :)

Just found your blog recently via polkadot peticoat, so hello from the other side of the world in the middle of a hot tropical Australian summer. Love your gorgeous use of colour and all sorts of pretty on your blog- your photo collage is inspirational for a girl who doesn't really get a season like spring over here. We do provide a pretty wonderful load of beach though.melx

Even now we have a new bluebird family in our birdhouse and my crabapple tree has lots of little buds. The green grass and pretty flowers are favorites for me. Plus our trees are full of birds. So wonderful. :0)

Ooo! Pretty flowers!

There's a little over a month left of the calendar winter! Yay! This winter is going by much faster than last. I'm glad most of us had a break.

My fav part of spring? Being able to get outside more without slipping on ice or mud! I mean I love the color, warmer temps, etc but winter is just trecherous outside if you live in the north and I get so house bound!

I love the blooming dogwoods, warm days with the cool breezes (and no humidity), and just the splendor of the newly green grass.

We have had lots of rain and unseasonably warm temps in East Tennessee, so I am over the mud and the ugliness of winter and no snow!

Have a truly lovely weekend,
Cindy

My favorite parts about Spring are hearing the birds sing, and seeing the new buds appearing on the trees.

Very lovely and inspiring photos! :)

Your walk with Rosie sounds sweet and memorable. Even though you did have to endure a bit of mud.

Happy Friday to you!
