Are you familiar with Photogram? I wasn't, until this past weekend. With the absolute proliferation of smart phones, there's no excuse for ever missing a photo op. Photogram, a free app, lets you curate your best photos and drop them into fun templates to share on the web through e-mail or on social networks. (An option to post directly to the various blogging platforms, wouldn't go amiss.) Four photos fit in a template, giving you the chance to construct an instant 'blog post'.
It comes with twenty six templates, and you're able to purchase additional ones from independent artists (who see a share of each sale). It's definitely a perfect app for a busy mom on-the-go. While some of the templates are more appealing than others, there's always the simple option of a solitary color frame.
The site is easy to use, with a clever, 'steampunk' influenced dashboard. Very fitting, if you consider the history and the original meaning of photogram:
'A photogram is a photographic image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. The result is a negative shadow image varying in tone, depending on the transparency of the objects used. Areas of the paper that have received no light appear white; those exposed through transparent or semi-transparent objects appear grey. Photograms were used from the early 1800's into the twentieth century by a number of photographers, particularly Man Ray.'
I wouldn't mind designing a 'birdie blue' specific template. Wouldn't that be fun?
