hydrangea heaven

 The weekend, at last.

Time to walk in the garden, and assess the flower situation.

Lots of lime green, mixed with a little vibrant pink.

Rainy days, cooler temperatures, yards of mulch, and organic fertilizer add up to blooms galore.

We had a terrible storm on Monday, and many of my neighbors are still without power. Damaging winds downed many giant, century-old oak, maple, and elm trees.

We lost a tall pine. It could've been a lot worse.

It could have damaged more of my hydrangeas. I lost only one.
I'm grateful. Is there anything worse in a garden, than one full of blooms, lying flat as a pancake?

The girls are feeling better, too. Thank you for all of your kind words and thoughts. You're the best.
Wishing you a peaceful, storm-free weekend with lots of sunshine.

I'm joining the fun at the following:

Your pink blooms are gorgeous. I am amazed at all the dangerous weather we've endured this summer across the lake from you. I'm sorry about the loss of your tree. Every time it storms, I pray that our special treehouse dwelling stays firm and strong. Have a lovely relaxing weekend.

Oh dear! I missed the stomach flu saga in your last post. Glad you're all on the mend.

I am also a hydrangea addict. I only have 9, but 45 sounds about right to me!

So glad to hear you are all right and I hope your neighbors are back to normal soon. I always hate to hear about the loss of trees.

I love that winding path that you have! So glad that you didn't lose power, or have major damage from the storm. Wow, 45 hydrangeas! It must be like a little piece of heaven when they're in bloom. All I have are pink ones, but I keep seeing blue ones, so I think I "need" some of those too!

Great shots of your gorgeous hydrangeas. My favorite! I still have a few that have not bloomed well this year. But my limelight that I recently planted is! Hurray!

Ohhh......! My fav flower! How beautiful! We had a storm here in SW Mich, too on Monday. It flattened all of the wildflowers surrounding our barn as well as all of the plants in our veggie garden. They've recuperated, but what an awful sight!

What do you feed your hydrangeas to get them so beautiful? Mine are pretty sparse looking and could use some help. :)

That are my favorite flowers in summer. I like them very much and also have a few of them in my garden.
We cannot really enjoy the garden this summer, because of the weather.
It changes every day and it is very stormy. Sometimes I feel like living on the coast and lots of rain, too.
Have a nice sunday evening and a good start in the week.
