dolly clothes pins

Where did the week go?

I absolutely can not believe it's Friday already. I've been sick in bed with the respiratory flu. It's interesting what happens in the household when mom's out of commission. Let's just say I'll have my work cut out for me, once I'm up and running again.

Although, I did get to read quite a bit..
I really enjoyed both Alice Hoffman's new book, The Red Garden, and Jacqueline Winspear's latest Maisie Dobbs adventure, A Lesson In Secrets.

I thought maybe you might like a peek at some recent vintage finds. How sweet is that set of dolly clothes pins? Maggie and I stopped by the vintage market last week, she spotted it and knew I'd love it. She's right.
A stack of vintage bluebird embroidered 'days of the week' dish towels and a vintage jadeite bowl also came home with us. I think the bowl might belong to a vintage mixer. Although it's quite small, it has a ridge on the bottom that must serve some mysterious purpose...
Do tell, if you know.

Thank you for all of your reports on your local 'Spring' weather conditions.
I'm hoping the sun comes out here today.
At least it isn't snowing. I take that back, it IS snowing. Sigh.

Have the loveliest of weekends, my friends.

I am sure it is. I have an old stand mixer of my husband's grandmother's and it has and identical bowl in white. Mine is an old Sunbeam. The green is lovely though.

So much cheerfulness every time I visit you, miss Mollie. The dolly clothes pins are irresistible just like the days of the week dish towels. I am imagining using one lovely each day, does it have the name of the week embroidered on it?
Hope you will feel better soon, my friend xxxx
