I collect buttons.
I've had a thing for them ever since I inherited a large glass jar filled with a lifetime of buttons from my Grandmother.
I like looking for them. You'd be surprised where you can find them.
The more brightly colored the better, although all colors are welcome. I sort out the ones I don't think I'll use and let the girls have them for their various projects. I definitely discriminate on the basis of cuteness.
I especially like mop (mother of pearl) vintage buttons.
What do you think I do with them? Any guesses?
I'll show you in my next post.

The buttons are so pretty and look like it would be fun to let them fall through your fingers. Pretty and a tactile experience too. I can't wait to see your button projects.
It's funny how we crafty bloggers gravitate towards the same things :-) I have those jelly jars, 'tho I painted the lids pink...and they have buttons in them...MOP buttons to be exact. Ha! AND that button tin (and the 'pins' one) is a favorite of mine from CK!
All sisters in blogland!

Oh so orderly, and such beautiful colours, and my heart skips a beat when I see Bonne Maman jars.
Oh, if I came over, I'd steal your button collection! how happy!
FYI - an apple pear tastes like both - crisp and juicy - super sweet if they are ripe. I love them. They stay crunchie as they ripen and become super juicy - unlike the pear which becomes soft. Thanks for stopping by.
Love all your buttons!! I collect them too. ( I don't think I have anything valuable or anything.) My maternal grandmother was a dressmaker in the 30's and 40's, and she strung all of her wonderful extra buttons onto a string. When I was a child I loved looking at it. My sister has possession of that now... wish it was me. Well, my guess for your question is : charm button bracelets, or Christmas tree ornaments, or flowers. Am I even close? Can't wait to hear what you really do with them.
i forget where you like. east coast by any chance? probably not. oh, we'd have fun between cath, bonne maman and other cute things like these adorable buttons ...
cute post, as always!
