Curious about what I use all of those buttons for from my previous post?
I like to make button wreaths. They're a little labor intensive, but I don't mind sewing on buttons. I'm currently working on an all white one with mostly 'mother of pearl' buttons.
I try to overlap the buttons, until they completely cover the wreath. More is more. On the wreath below, I didn't sew buttons completely around to the back (like I did on the one above). It was such a big wreath, that I went into 'button preservation' mode...
Love the color and detail they add to a plain mirror. Plus, it gives me an excuse to acquire more buttons. Can you ever have too many buttons?
brightly colored buttons = happiness
Have a lovely weekend, my friends.

p.s. I can't believe you sew them on! I thought for sure they were hot glued. Amazing!
Oh my yes, pretty colored buttons are the best! I'm in love with this! I can't believe you sewed them all on. I was thinking "glue gun" time. You really made it special with hand sewing.

I was intrigued to see what you make with buttons and this is so creative and very upbeat. I mean, could a person be sad while looking at a button wreath? The white one will be pretty too. Will you tie it with a red ribbon?

Now THAT made me smile! I love how cheery this creation is =) I have recently been using my button stash to ornament coffee cup cozies that I have been crocheting.
Wow, that is very special. You certainly love your buttons, with a spectacular result.
Hi Molly, I'm Leslie Anne and I recently found your blog and I'm loving it! I've got to ask you a couple of questions about your button wreath - first, what kind of base did you put it on? Did you paint it or wrap it in something (fabric? ribbon?) before applying the buttons? And how on earth did you sew buttons onto it, especially when you got to a 2nd layer? I'd love to make one, but have no idea where to start! Thanks for any help you can give me! Leslie Anne
Wow! I love it! Want to make one myself but have all the same questions that Leslie Anne had above. Help please...
